The BMW S1000RR is a super bike manufactured by BMW Motorrad to compete in the 2009 Superbike World Championship.[2] It was introduced in Munich on 16 April 2008, and is powered by a 999 cc (61.0 cu in) inline-4 engine redlined at 14,200 rpm.

Making 193bhp and 83lb/ft of torque, the 2010 BMW S1000RR is the most powerful 1000cc production bike on the market. More importantly, weighing 183kg dry and 204kg fully fueled, it also has the best power-to-weight ratio. Troy Corser just took the wraps off the production BMW S1000RR in Monza, the bike will go on sale in most markets, including the US, in January. “We are confident that we will be able to start the Superbike World Championship next year with a convincing all-round package, and that our series motorcycle will be just as convincing,” said Hendrik von Kuenheim, a 20-year veteran of BMW and now the General Director of BMW’s motorcycle division. “In both terms of both its technology and price, our Supersports will be absolutely competitive.”
